Gulf Power tree clearing raises concerns

Gulf Power officials are in  conflict with two subdivisions known for their oak trees.  The associations feel the trees define their communities and provide many benefits.  Many of the trees are over 100 years old.  The power company is concerned about main transmission lines which provide power to a large area.  Storms in the area can cause the trees to fall down and take out those main power lines, causing the power to go out across the area.
